- Q1: What is TRUEFAM Welfare?
- TRUEFAM is a community welfare system supporting Africans in the USA, UK, and Canada during times of bereavement. Members contribute to each other when a loss occurs, creating a network of unity and practical support.
- Q2: Who can join TRUEFAM Welfare?
- Membership is open to Africans living in the USA, Canada, or the UK, aged 18–75. Close relatives of Africans may also join.
- Q3: How much does it cost to join TRUEFAM Welfare?
- A one-time non-refundable registration fee of $100 is required. An annual subscription fee (varies by plan) keeps your membership active.
- Q4: What bereavement support plans does TRUEFAM offer?
- We currently offer three plans:

• Best for members seeking affordable, straightforward bereavement support.
🌟 Plus Plan
• Annual Fee: $30
• Contribution per campaign: $50
• Payout: $20,000
• Ideal for members with larger responsibilities or multiple dependents who want enhanced support.
✈️ Elite Plan
• Annual Fee: $35
• Contribution per campaign:
- $25 if death occurs outside the US/UK/Canada
- $50 if death occurs within the US/UK/Canada
• Payout:
- $10,000 (local deaths abroad)
- $20,000 (deaths in diaspora countries)
• Perfect for members concerned about costs of repatriating a loved one who passes away while living, studying, or visiting abroad.
All groups are capped at 401 members. - Q5: What happens when a member loses a loved one?
- Contributions will be collected based on the plan you chose:
• Basic: Each member in your group contributes $25.
• Plus: Each member contributes $50.
• Elite: Contribution depends on where the death occurs—$25 if abroad, $50 if in the US/UK/Canada. - Q6: How do members send their contributions?
- All payments are made directly through trusted platforms designated by TRUEFAM (e.g., Zelle, Venmo, Cash App) and then directed to the bereaved family.
- Q7: How long do I have to contribute?
- Contributions must be made within 7 days of a campaign starting.
- Q8: What if someone doesn't contribute during a campaign?
- Members who don't contribute within the 7-day window (and within a 12-hour final notice) will be removed from the group.
- Q9: Is TRUEFAM Welfare an insurance company?
- No. TRUEFAM is a community-based welfare group. Although the Elite plan includes repatriation support, TRUEFAM does not pool funds or act as an insurance underwriter.
- Q10: How are groups organized?
- Members are grouped into units of up to 401 people, typically by nationality.
- Q11: How does TRUEFAM verify deaths?
- We require official documents such as a confirmation of death, burial permits, death certificates, and a government-issued ID of the deceased.
- Q12: What if I move to a different country?
- As long as you remain in the USA, UK, or Canada and stay up-to-date with your payments, you can keep your membership.
- Q13: Is there a member portal?
- Yes! Members have a secure online portal to update profiles, check contributions, view campaigns, and download receipts.
- Q14: How is my data protected?
- We store your personal information securely, use it only for TRUEFAM operations, and never share it without consent.
- Q15: What if I need help with enrollment or payments?
- Our support team is available by email, WhatsApp, and the member portal.
- Q16: How do I renew my membership?
- You'll receive a reminder. Renew directly through your portal by paying your plan's annual fee.
- Q17: Who can I cover with TRUEFAM?
- Eligible dependents include:

• Biological children
• Legally adopted children
• Biological parents
• Biological siblings
These are the only family members you can register under your membership for future benefit claims. - Q18: Who cannot be covered as dependents?
- The following are not allowed as dependents:
• Step-parents
• Step-siblings
• Extended family members (e.g., cousins, aunts, uncles)
• In-laws (unless legally tied by adoption or legal guardianship) - Q19: Does TRUEFAM arrange repatriation?
- For Elite plan members, TRUEFAM provides funds for repatriation costs, but families arrange the logistics themselves.
- Q20: What happens if I miss a campaign contribution?
- If you don't pay within 7 days and 12-hour final notice, you'll be removed from your group.
- Q21: What documents are required to enroll?
- You must fill out the application, upload a valid ID (front and back), list immediate family, and sign the bylaws electronically.
- Q22: How do I know my payment was received?
- You'll get a confirmation from your payment platform. The TRUEFAM dashboard and WhatsApp group also update your payment status in real time.
- Q23: Can I join multiple groups to increase support?
- No. Each member can belong to only one group. Duplicate enrollments are prohibited.
- Q24: Can I rejoin if removed?
- Yes, but you must wait 6 months and pay a $400 reactivation fee. Rejoining is also subject to available group slots.
- Q25: What happens if there's an error in my application?
- Submit a correction request through your portal. All changes are reviewed before updating the system.
- Q26: How are campaigns announced?
- Campaigns are announced via WhatsApp, the member portal, and email. Notifications include bereaved member details, contribution amounts, and payment instructions.
- Q27: Can I see who contributed to my campaign?
- Yes. A post-campaign report shows which members contributed, promoting transparency.
- Q28: Is TRUEFAM available in Africa?
- Currently, membership is limited to Africans residing in the USA, UK, or Canada.
- Q29: What if I relocate permanently to Africa?
- You can remain in TRUEFAM as long as you continue contributions uninterrupted, but Elite plan repatriation benefits don't apply if death occurs outside the USA/UK/Canada.
- Q30: Can I upgrade my plan after enrolling?
- Yes. Members can request an upgrade to a higher plan (e.g., from Basic to Plus or Elite) by submitting a plan change request through the member portal. The new plan and fees will apply starting with the next campaign. Note that the 90-day waiting period will reset when you upgrade.
- Q31: What payment methods are accepted for registration and contributions?
- TRUEFAM accepts payments through Zelle, Venmo, debit and credit cards, and other approved platforms specified in each campaign announcement. Detailed payment instructions are shared in the member portal and campaign messages.
