About TRUEFAM Welfare

Learn about our story, mission, vision, and the values that drive our commitment to supporting the African community.

Our Story

Our Story

TRUEFAM Welfare was created out of necessity and compassion. As members of the African diaspora, we've experienced firsthand the emotional toll and financial pressure that comes with losing a loved one while abroad.

We've also seen how community can rise up in these moments to bring healing, dignity, and strength. TRUEFAM Welfare exists to make that support consistent, organized, reliable, and accessible to all our members.

Our Mission

TRUEFAM Welfare exists to provide compassionate, reliable, and timely support during moments of bereavement among its members. We stand for practical unity, mutual respect, and cultural preservation.

Our Vision

We envision a tightly knit, values-driven community rooted in solidarity, empathy, cultural identity, and mutual support. Our goal is to foster a nurturing environment for Africans and friends of Africa living in the U.S., Canada and UK and grounded in unity and shared responsibility.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide everything we do at TRUEFAM Welfare.

Integrity

We do what is right, even when no one is watching. Every contribution, decision, and action is handled with honesty and transparency—because trust is the foundation of our community.

Compassion

We lead with empathy. In moments of grief, we stand beside our members with open hearts, offering comfort, support, and care that feels personal and genuine.

Respect

We honor each person's journey, their cultural background, and their loved ones. Respect shapes how we speak, serve, and support—because dignity is non-negotiable.

Accountability

We follow through. From contributions to claims, our process is reliable, responsive, and clear. We take ownership of our work and welcome feedback from our members.

Cultural Pride

We are proudly rooted in African heritage. Our support reflects our customs, our languages, and the sacred ways we mourn and remember those we've lost.

Equality

Everyone matters. No status, nationality, or background determines the value of support. We treat each member with fairness, ensuring no one is left behind.

Our Services & Support Structure

TRUEFAM Welfare offers a structured and transparent bereavement support system designed to serve Africans in the diaspora with dignity, speed, and compassion.

Bereavement Support

We offer structured financial support by coordinating member contributions to help cover funeral expenses when a member is bereaved or when a member passes on.

Repatriation Services

Our Elite Plan offers financial assistance toward repatriation-related expenses if the member or any of their enrolled dependents passes away while abroad. While TRUEFAM does not coordinate logistics or transportation directly, the Elite Plan ensures that families receive additional support to help offset the costs of returning the deceased to their country of origin.
